The first monthly club ride of 2015 visited Swinley Forest this Sunday. Eight riders made it down there despite a closure on the M25 causing some difficulty. We were blessed with some great weather and some wonderful winter sunshine. Thanks to those who came down and for those that didn't, well perhaps next time. There is a new section to the red trail, which I'd never ridden before. It needs a bit of riding in, but is a nice addition.
I can't recommend Swinley highly enough, if you've not been, its worth a visit. It's only about 45-60 minutes journey for me (that's from Berkhamsted), you might be even closer. It has a variety of reasonably weatherproof, way-marked trails that even beginners can really enjoy. There is a cafe and children's play area too, if you need to amuse the youngsters!
Hopefully the local trails will be a bit drier and more inviting for next month's club ride, which will be on Sunday the 22nd February. Anyone like to lead that one? Just let me know.
See you on the trails, Ian
